Essentially, your ASUS laptop keeps switching between charging and not charging when plugged in. A fresh charger helped temporarily but didn’t solve the issue long-term. Updated: December 15, 2021 by Ron The Almighty Rat King

I can provide more details about the laptop model and its age. For instance, you can check the Windows Start menu, type "system," and review the system information. If needed, I can guide you through capturing a screenshot of that window.

The laptop is at least four years old, but it’s still decent—just barely charging and now it’s out of power. Plus, I can’t share a screenshot of the window since my device is now dead :/

For fun, the plug you connect to power up should have air blown into both the end of the cord and the port where you insert it. If dust is the issue, this simple fix works but might not always be the case. With the laptop connected, press the power button until the backlight and other lights turn off except for a charging indicator if it appears. Does the charging light flash while the laptop claims it isn’t charging?
