My machine suddenly stopped showing after working for a few hours. At first I believed the graphics card was faulty, as it would sometimes behave strangely and become non-functional until restarting. I tried reinserting it and even connected the display port to the motherboard, but nothing changed. The monitor stays on, though it slowly displays a black screen. The system powers up normally when booting. This setup has been in use for about five years, with all components being roughly eight months old except the GPU. Power supply is MSI MPG A850G.
It seems the GPU might be showing issues again. Are you experiencing the same problems with your 7800X3D's integrated graphics? Also, would using the same GPU in another x16 slot work? Do you have an extra dedicated GPU available?
This indicates that the alternative X16 port failed to function.
It's a typical startup POST process, but the red LED stays lit a bit longer. The component is the red LED itself. Have you checked the RAM and CPU connections? If not, it might be a motherboard issue.
The red indicator shows up for the CPU, while the yellow signals the DRAM. I recently attempted to re-seat the RAM but got no results. I’m not too excited about re-seating the CPU since I don’t have any thermal paste on hand.
