I own a machine with these details. Intel I9 14900K, two 32 GB 6400 MHz DDR5 sticks totaling 64 GB RAM, ASUS ROG STRIX 3090 graphics card from GIGABYTE B760 gaming X AX motherboard, plus two SSDs—one 2 TB and the other 4 TB. A 1000 W power supply from EVGA. The issue is that a game suddenly launched into BIOS when I was laying a network cable outside my house. I attempted things like re-seating RAM, resetting BIOS defaults, reinstalling Windows, and more. I suspect the problem lies with the CPU since the 14th generation is known to degrade, and my PC seems to constantly run idle games. This is unusual because the only transitions are to BIOS or similar settings. I tried installing Windows 11 Pro on the 2 TB SSD (the original boot drive) and then on the 4 TB SSD (intended for games). Both appear in BIOS/Windows setup but report errors like “cannot proceed” or a generic installation failure. The BIOS also shows the processor, though I’m unsure if that matters. My warranty expires in 2029, but I’d rather resolve this now and request an RMA so I can get back to gaming without waiting.

You could try the system using any spare or borrowed CPU. It might simplify the issue, possibly resulting in a used i3-12100 for £100 and selling it for $95. However, there’s a high likelihood it’s just CPU wear and tear, so proceed with an RMA just in case.

It seems like you're suggesting returning the item or replacing it if it breaks. It might not be ideal to let it malfunction while you focus on other tasks. Intel will likely need time to process your request, but acting now could save you trouble later.
