One day when I started playing cs2, I observed my frames dropping from 300 to 100. It seemed unusual at first, but I ignored it. Later, I began experiencing stutters and even more frame drops, eventually reaching around 30 fps before I decided to shut off the game. After closing it, my monitors went dark and the fans started spinning rapidly. I waited a short time and then powered down the computer. Since then, I've tried several solutions: performing a factory reset, re-seating the RAM, updating the BIOS, and verifying all cables are securely connected. There don't appear to be any temperature concerns—my CPU and GPU maintain cool temperatures near 60°C—and my system utilization stays around 50% during gameplay. Both Rust and CS2 seem to cause similar problems. If anyone has advice, please share. I've attached a video clip showing the stutters for reference. My PC specifications are: RTX 3090 24G, Ryzen 7 7700X, 32GB DDR5, 6000MT, GTX 1060, MagSafe 2, about 2 years old. MedalTVRust20241207162036.mp4
You experienced some memory problems before, and what resolved them was running a language model on CPU, where unstable RAM led to unexpected output. Downclocking might help—perhaps to something like 5000MT—to confirm if the issue is related to the RAM. I’m not sure if you changed the settings during factory reset. Welcome to the forum!
