Hey, I'm dealing with a Dell Precision 5530. I recently switched my RAM from 16GB to 32GB, but I'm facing a weird boot issue. The original model had 8GB, and after adding another stick I upgraded to 16GB. Now when I try to upgrade further to 32GB by swapping in a 2x16GB module, the laptop won't start and the LEDs show an error code sequence: 3 white, pause, 2 orange. It seems like no memory is being detected. If I leave the original 8GB stick in and only install one of the larger sticks, it works and shows 24GB installed. I've checked forums and tried various fixes but nothing has helped. Any ideas?

The RAM model is mentioned on several forums, suggesting some Dell laptops require a specific approved stick to function properly. You might have reset the BIOS to resolve the issue.

The new RAM being installed is a Kingston FURY Impact KF426S16IBK2/32, while the original RAM that prevents booting is a Kingston 1x8 KHYXPX-MIET19040QU1K. I've attempted to reset the BIOS by removing the battery and holding the power button for 30 seconds, but that didn't resolve the issue.

Looking at the supported RAM specifications for the 5530 that Dell has listed, I don't see a reason why it wouldn't work seeing as it is the correct spec. Also, using one of the new RAM sticks works, it just doesn't recognize the memory installed if I replace the original stick that came with the pc.
