Hi, I've had a prebuilt running smoothly and wanted to confirm the BIOS was fully current. After updating and restoring the older version, the CPU is constantly at 100°C or rising rapidly.
Details:
Mobo: Gigabyte B760M C V3 Rev: 1.0
CPU: Intel i7-14700F
GPU: Asus 5070
RAM: XPG 6000 DDR5
The last BIOS update was F2, but the newest versions claim better stability—now I'm experiencing this temperature problem.

Welcome to the forums for newcomers!
Have you reset the CMOS after confirming your BIOS was flashed to F3 from F2? Were you checking that you have the most recent chipset drivers before updating the BIOS version?
You didn’t mention the cooler’s make and model, nor your case.
I have a prebuilt unit.
Do you have a link to the prebuilt machine?
What are the ambient room temperatures? Can you remember the temperatures before the BIOS update?

When you updated the bios, you received the standard fan curves for the CPU cooler and case fans. You should open the bios and reset all the fan settings to help cool the CPU and boost overall case airflow. Because this setup includes a liquid cooling system, it’s also important to configure the bios to run the pump continuously at full capacity.

The fan curves were adjusted for the CPU, and setting it to silent resolved the problem.
