Windows 10 64 bit AMD Ryzen7 1800x motherboard EVGA GTX 1070 RTPS GPU Corsair RM850 PSU 32GB GSKILL DDR4 3200MHz RAM (8GBx4) Cooler Master ML240L 240mm AIO Seagate 500GB NVMe M.2 SSD for boot 5TB HDD various brands all connected via SATA 1TB M.2 SSD over PCIe expansion for data analysis I’m uncertain about the situation and will dig deeper today, but I’m unsure what might be causing it. When the CPU remains idle or behaves strangely, the screen often turns off. USB devices also shut down, which I notice from seeing the LEDs on my keyboard and mouse turn off. At this stage, the power button on the CPU doesn’t respond, and forcing a reboot has no effect. The HDD indicator is off, yet all LEDs and fans in the case are active, suggesting it’s not a simple power loss, though I’m not sure. My AIO pump isn’t running at full speed as recommended by BIOS, so I had to install a DIY solution. It seems to operate normally, but when the CPU powers down and on, the pump emits a strange noise—possibly indicating power spikes or thermal stress that could cause intermittent shutdowns. I’m considering replacing it, but I don’t have funds right now. I upgraded my PSU to 850W, which should suffice given my configuration. My CPU tends to shut down more frequently when using PyCharm, possibly due to heavy usage, so I notice it more often. I recently added PCIe expansion for my NLP project because my HDD was lagging in speed; this might not be the issue, though it’s the latest addition. I’ve experienced thermal and power problems before, but none recently. Do you have any advice? I’m currently running disk integrity checks with `chkdsk` and plan to inspect my RAM sticks systematically, as well as upgrade my BIOS version.
I believe I've figured it out. The Windows memory diagnostic indicated a possible issue with one of my RAM kits. After removing the faulty kit, the problem ceased, at least temporarily. I'm still uncertain whether the issue lies with the RAM bus on the motherboard or the actual RAM itself. It's odd that the error doesn't trigger a blue screen, but instead causes the computer to shut down abruptly without warning.
