The CPU indicator is red and the system isn't starting after a day of use.
I have a Z390 UD with an i9 9700K and the CPU fan is on, but the PC won’t power up. Fans spin fast, yet no display or windows appear. I’ve swapped in my old CPU with its previous RAM, but it didn’t work either. Even though that pairing worked before, now everything is broken. I updated the BIOS using the old CPU, which functioned for a few months, then suddenly it failed again. I’m using thermal paste I bought earlier because the original paste degraded during troubleshooting. I’m really frustrated and feel defeated right now.
What are the full specifications for this setup (including the model numbers of all parts installed)? Information on the GPU is important. Are there any overclocking adjustments made?
No overclocking is planned. The GPU is an Evga RTX 2080 Ti. The only recent upgrades were the i9-9700K, Gigabyte Z390 UD, and Vengeance DDR4 32GB (2x16GB). The power supply uses a Gold Evga 750 GQ. I'm also running a Hyper 212 EVO FO CPU fan, though it's an older model from 2017. I have a 480GB SSD, a Kingston 500GB SSD, and a Seagate 1TB HDD. Please let me know if you have any further questions!
To manually reset the BIOS follow these steps:
1. Disconnect all power connections such as the power cable, video cable, and powered speakers.
2. Remove the motherboard battery.
3. Press the power button to remove any remaining power from the system components.
4. Allow at least a minute for the process to complete.
5. Reinsert the battery and reconnect the previously removed connections.
6. Turn on the system, which should now be in its default settings.
Is there any content displayed on the display? If not, do you possess an alternative GPU for evaluation?
