I positioned the CPU accurately and pulled gently to confirm its placement. I placed the retention bracket over it and lowered the arm, feeling significant pressure. Based on YouTube tutorials, I understood this should be the case. I installed it correctly but remained uncertain about the CPU itself. When I removed it, I noticed two small dents on either side. Is this typical? I’ve seen similar issues reported online, and others have experienced the same. The motherboard model is ASROCK H310CM-HDV, 1151, MATX, with 2 DDR4, DVI, VGA, HDMI, and GB LAN ports. I’ll include a photo, though its quality isn’t ideal. I’ve already returned it and need confirmation on whether this is normal. Additionally, the bracket with two notches on either side likely serves a purpose—it helps secure the CPU in place.

Are you referring to these components? They should be present, with the socket mechanism pressing down there. Or are you asking about the small lines on either side inside the red circle I drew in your picture? I don’t need to worry. Please inspect the socket on the opposite side of what I highlighted if anything seems unusual.

I mentioned both of them earlier, thank you. I was puzzled why no one talks about this in the YouTube tutorials. It bothers me that I have to push my build even further. Still, thanks!
