Hello, I see you purchased an i5 3570 used. The scratch or line you mentioned could indicate minor surface damage. Since you haven’t tested it yet, it’s wise to consider returning it for a thorough evaluation. Let me know if you need further guidance!

The image isn’t very clear, but it seems fine overall. You may need to use isopropyl alcohol to clean it if necessary.

Ambiguous, seems to resemble debris rather than a scratch. If it’s a scratch, I’ll take it back. Unless it functions and is cheaply priced. Also, I saw one that appears similar on the left side (highlighted green).

It didn't remove when I cleaned it with alcohol, according to @Lord Szechenyi

Examine carefully—if the scratch appears as some messy residue that might conduct electricity, it could be an issue. But a minor scratch might be fine. Acetone works better for cleaning if you have it nearby. It seems like a simple scratch, so give it a try; the chip should still function. Also, for cleaning the gold pads, you can rub them with a thick, flat rubber band on your finger to see if it helps.

I put it in and everything seems to be functioning properly... I zoomed in on my photo and am checking if there’s a scratch or another issue. It looks like a wide flat rubber band. Nice idea, I’ll give it a try! Thanks!
