I understand the Core i5 1135G7 uses index iris graphics, which is quite capable. I’m not sure if the Core i5-1240P offers better graphics despite having more cores—it might be more suited for mobile tasks.

they’re both mobile chips with identical onboard graphics, which isn’t very helpful for modern gaming unless you’re playing old titles. The 1240p is essentially a newer generation model and appears to run significantly more efficiently, making it likely to perform better than the 11th-gen chip in most scenarios.

The details on paper for the iGPUs appear to match. Both Iris Xe and the same EU count with identical clock speeds are listed. The main distinction on the sheet seems to be that the i5-1240P backs newer DP and HDMI standards, allowing a higher refresh rate screen. There could also be generational upgrades not reflected here—comparing directly would clarify their impact, but it likely isn’t significant. Regarding the processors, the i5 1240P is substantially more powerful than the i5 1135G7. Even with the same power ceiling, the 1240P outperforms the 1135G7 in both multi-core and single-core performance. For graphics, a slight boost might be noticeable with the 1240P, though it remains superior for CPU-heavy work.

I already own a laptop with 1240p resolution that gets quite warm at 91 degrees. I’ve stopped testing it now. CPU-Z shows 5200 points and 670 points per core, which feels similar to my Ryzen 7 3700X in a desktop setup. It lists 5700 points overall and 520 points for a single core.
