The constant blue screen appears during specific games.
Hello,
This is my initial attempt at posting, and I’m really hoping for some guidance.
I’m experiencing repeated 'blue screen of death' crashes in certain games, which often force the PC to shut down completely.
The affected titles so far are Cities: Skylines, Total War: Warhammer 2, and Total War: Warhammer 3.
These games typically crash immediately after launching, accompanied by error messages like 'WHEA uncorrectable' or 'Kernel mode exception not handled'.
I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the games on both a standard hard drive and an SSD, but the issue persists.
The PC was assembled by PCSpecialist in the UK and purchased at the beginning of 2018, so I don’t anticipate major performance problems based on its specifications.
This problem began in early 2021, and initially, reverting my graphics drivers to older versions resolved the issue. However, that solution no longer works.
Below are my system details:
It seems there may be a problem with either the hardware or software on your PC, possibly both. Have you adjusted the overclocking settings for the GTX 1080 Ti? If so, reset everything to default and adjust the clock speeds.
The WHEA uncorrectable error appears as a stop code during blue screen or BSOD events and typically indicates a hardware issue. Factors such as a failing hard drive, RAM, CPU misalignment, or other components can trigger this alert.
In addition to hardware faults, driver conflicts and missing Windows updates may also lead to this error, especially when overclocking. Overclocking itself can increase stress on the CPU, potentially causing similar issues.
If you've modified your CPU settings, revert to factory defaults and test with a game that requires graphics performance. Also, verify that all system drivers, firmware, BIOS, and Windows files are current.
