Beyond the other issues like VDSL limits and extra costs, you don't get a fixed 75Mbps. You just pay for a connection that offers only the best effort, since there are no assurances—especially with the old underground copper cables.
There are two CAT3 connections on the wall, but only one functions properly. It once shared a phone line, though I no longer use it. Previously, a cable connected to a splitter, but they now share the same line. I still rely on those splitters because my cables don’t reach the router. I haven’t tried using the router without splitters since I can’t measure speeds that way—my setup is a PC, not a laptop. Would using more splitters affect performance? I’m currently using two together. Yes, I pay up to 75 Mbps. If they promise this speed but don’t deliver, it’s their responsibility. The area around me and the building were once empty fields five years ago. I’m confident copper cables last that long.
