The computer stops working when playing recent video games.
Following the acquisition of a new monitor and a Kingston SSD, which I successfully integrated into my computer system and installed Windows 7 (64-bit) on, I experienced a perplexing issue. My PC would unexpectedly power down during gameplay of modern, demanding video games—the timing could vary from 15 minutes to an hour. I've meticulously cleaned my computer’s interior, handling the process with care.
This malfunction began only after installing the SSD. However, it disappears entirely when playing older games. I believe the issue manifests specifically with CPU-intensive titles.
I intend to replace my CPU’s thermal paste tomorrow, potentially addressing elevated temperatures. Yet, I'm puzzled by the sudden onset of this problem immediately following the SSD installation.
I’ll create a discussion post here to see if anyone can offer assistance and clarify this problem. I am grateful for any guidance offered by a helpful individual.
Unexpected system interruptions often stem from problems with the power supply unit. It’s also possible that the central processing unit is reaching its maximum temperature, though this is unlikely. Monitor your CPU temperatures during gameplay and provide an update. If you have a second power supply available, try swapping it out. Occasionally, shutdowns can arise from insufficient memory due to aggressive overclocking, but for now, focus on assessing the power supply and CPU temperatures.
