Occasionally, the system functions adequately. Other times, it abruptly fails within a short period of playing 3D games. It rarely crashes when running 2D titles like Factorio or Slay the Spire. Occasionally, it freezes without warning, requiring a restart. In other instances, it locks up with distorted audio that causes discomfort. On rare occasions, it restarts unexpectedly on its own. I’ve attempted to resolve the problem by removing and reinserting my RAM, graphics card, and central processing unit. I believe overheating is not the cause, as I have replaced my cooling compound and all temperature readings are within acceptable limits, peaking at approximately 55 degrees Celsius on both the graphics card and processor. I have ensured my drivers are current, but remain uncertain about further steps. The most frequent crashes occur while playing Dark Souls 3, though similar problems have arisen in other games. I’ve implemented specific solutions for Dark Souls without success.

System Specifications:
CPU: AMD FX-6300 (6 threads & 6 cores)
RAM: 8GB Ripjaws DDR3 (2x)
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB Gigabyte
Drive: 1TB HDD WD Blue
Motherboard: ASUS M5A78L-M (BIOS version 2101)
Operating System: 64-bit Windows 10 (latest version)

Troubleshooting Actions Taken:
Updating BIOS Version
Updating Graphics Card Drivers
Reassembling Hardware Components
Replacing CPU cooling paste (initial temperatures were excessive, now stable)
Adjusting in-game settings
Running GPU in debug mode
Verifying game file integrity
Completely reinstalling games

Examine Event Viewer and Reliability Monitor to investigate potential issues. You could discover error messages or alerts recorded preceding or coinciding with the crashes, possibly including helpful details. Alternatively, observe any recurring event sequences that indicate the cause of these occurrences. Carefully analyze what you uncover.

Examine the Event Viewer and Reliability Monitor for potential issues. You might discover error messages, cautions, or informative entries that occurred close to the moments of failure. Also, investigate any recurring patterns in logged events which could indicate a cause for the crashes. Investigate to determine what you can ascertain.
