The computer stops working only when it goes into idle mode after overclocking.
Hi, I'm having a problem I can't resolve on Google. When I overclock my CPU, the i5-3570k seems to run smoothly without any crashes or issues under heavy load. However, when I leave the computer idle for about 20 minutes, it automatically shuts down. The activity log shows it doesn't know why it stops, and the computer is set to never sleep except during overclocking. This only happens when I overclock. I've tried overclocking at different speeds and voltages, even changing OS versions and switching between Windows 7 and Windows 10, but the problem persists.
It seems like there are two possible explanations for the issue.
The low voltage during idle might be resolved by adjusting the BIOS settings (please share your motherboard model).
If the system shuts down after a specific idle period, it could be a Windows power-saving feature that needs fixing.
I encountered this with my sister's PC too—even though all idle-related Windows options were turned off, I had to reset everything back to default and then reconfigure the settings.
Hello,
Have you turned off power saving, sleep mode, and hibernation?
