The computer stops working during a restart.
I've experienced this problem since setting up my PC. Everything functions normally except for this issue. Every time I restart, the screen freezes at the motherboard logo and BIOS menu, stopping at those steps. I can't access the BIOS during this freeze, making it seem like the display is completely stuck. I discovered a temporary fix: after freezing, I power off the machine, disconnect any USB devices from the back, and then restart. It seems to work—once I turn it on again, it functions properly. However, if I restart without doing this, it freezes again. I've tried updating drivers, refreshing BIOS settings, and adjusting boot options, but nothing resolved it. Honestly, having to reboot the PC each time is really annoying. Do you have any suggestions or solutions? Here are my details: Ryzen 9 5900X, RTX 3080, 16GB RAM (2x8GB), ASUS ROG STRIX X570-E, gaming Wi-Fi II M.2, Kingston SA1000M8 240GB HDD, TOSHIBA DTO1ACA300 Dark Power Pro 11 850W, quiet operation. I previously used storage from another machine and plan to replace it soon, but I'm curious if this is related.
It seems there may be issues with the USB connections or connectors, possibly due to a loose plug or a defective motherboard.
It seems the issue might be related to any USB port or connection, not just a specific one. You can safely remove any USB device from any port and it should work again.
Thanks for your feedback! I'll work on resolving the motherboard issue, though I'll need to hold off until I have more information.
