The computer started acting sluggish.
I recently acquired a GPU for my setup and everything functioned smoothly for a week. Last night it began to slow dramatically on Warframe and overall system performance. Load times increased tenfold, while FPS stayed steady except during game loading—like when turning or approaching objects, causing drops from 120fps to around 11fps or complete freezes. I’d really appreciate help from anyone here. I’ve already tried reinstalling drivers, running a SFC scan, defragmenting drives, using Windows Memory Diagnostic, checking temperatures, scanning for viruses, reassembling the PC, and verified my specs: Ryzen 3100 GTX 1060 with 3GB RAM and 8GB.
It appears the storage consumption vanishes immediately when the file fails to load.
Remained unchanged, no movement, shifted position and then rose again.
Yes, the SSD lacks sufficient capacity, I would have used it if it had been available.
It makes sense that the issue appeared suddenly. The performance drop seems to have happened overnight.
HDD seems like the likely cause, especially if it's an older model—based on what I've seen, problems tend to worsen over time. If you download pirated movies or games, definitely run a malwarebytes scan, even if you don’t think you need it. You can't always be sure about hidden malware running quietly. Also, if you're using Wallpaper Engine, make sure it doesn't operate in the background when fullscreen is on. Consider switching to a less demanding wallpaper too; I remember my old PC having trouble with certain backgrounds.
Thanks for your feedback. It appears the issue might be related to the original drive. I’ll continue testing with different storage options—reinstalling on an external HDD and having a friend try it on my PC with games later today. I’ll keep you posted if it works or confirm the problem is resolved.
