So here’s what happened—this time the game restarted again while playing Warcraft. Even after manually restarting the PC, I wasn’t seeing any display. I tried an old method: unplugged the power cord from the PSU, held the power button for a minute, then plugged it back in. This time, when I started up, the display appeared. I’m pretty sure my GPU is failing. Based on my instincts, I downloaded Heaven Benchmark and ran it. Within 20 to 30 seconds of the test, the PC restarted again. I shut down the PC and reinserted the GPU, which was warm but the fans were working. Then I switched display ports and plugged the power cord back in. I ran the test once more and it completed three cycles without issues. The highest temperature reached was 66°C, but on the fourth attempt the PC restarted. I’m thinking my old 1070, which I’ve had for seven years, might be overheating and failing. So maybe it’s time to start saving for a new GPU.
