The computer restarts after functioning properly for some time.
Pc experienced an abrupt shutdown after a few minutes or hours, without any BSOD or full stop. It restarts instantly but randomly, regardless of activity. Steps taken: verified overheating, replaced cooler, checked PSU and CPU, swapped RAM and power cables, tested different motherboard connections, updated BIOS, removed CMOS battery, and even booted without a case. No consistent resolution found.
PSU Problems: Old power supplies might be causing issues. Motherboard: Check if it's faulty; consider replacing it. Grounding: Address the house’s grounding problems, as weak grounding can lead to instability. Storage: Try using a different SSD or boot drive to eliminate drive-related issues. Surge Protection: Install a surge protector or UPS to avoid power spikes. Drivers/Software: Update drivers or perform a clean Windows installation to rule out software conflicts. Prioritize the PSU, grounding, and motherboard first.
I would create a live USB installation and start it without any external drives connected. If the system functions identically, the next step would likely be swapping the motherboard.
Consider all options at first. If issues remain, try adjusting the settings. My system is quite outdated, so I'm not confident about this.
