My computer would power on and off intermittently this morning. I unplugged all components, reinserted the RAM, then reconnected everything and turned it on. The screen displayed messages about failed OC settings, prompting me to press F1 or F2, but I couldn't use my keyboard. After a restart, the PC remains active yet completely unresponsive. Details: Z97 mb, i5-4670k, 2x4gb RAM, 256 SSD, Windows 10, R9 280x GPU. Please assist me with this issue.

see the battery on the motherboard removed and reinserted? Please let me know.
Parker - Thanks for the response. Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
- Installed an old CPU, received a message saying OC was bad, used F2 with default settings, booted fine. Then switched back to i5 CPU, same OC warning, pressed F2 and booted again. After reassembling everything (including cooler), it still didn’t work.
- Removed the CMOS battery on the motherboard for about 5 minutes, then reinserted and still got a black screen.
- Disconnected the video card and connected the monitor via HDMI on the motherboard, but nothing happened.
Davidb1191 asked for advice on fixing the motherboard battery issue. Parker replied with details of their attempts, including using an old CPU, changing BIOS settings, and trying different configurations. Parker also mentioned removing the CMOS battery briefly and switching to safe mode to see if it resolves the problem.
The issue is that nothing comes up anymore. The monitor isn't turning on from standby either. Turning it off and back on doesn't help it get back to standby.
But i need to know if you used a program to overclock or if you overclocked in bios.
