When I press the power button, it goes through all the error LEDs before turning yellow (BOOT msg) and then shuts down. After waiting a while, I managed to reach the Windows password screen. The system is running very slowly now. I took apart and reassembled the whole build, but the same BOOT error keeps appearing. Here’s my parts list: NZXT h710i Ryzen 5 1600x NZXT Kraken x73 IO ROG Strix B450-F Gaming G SKILL Trident Z 2x8 WD Caviar Blue 1 TB EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 EVGA SuperNOVA G3 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Additional Info: - I occasionally encounter a Display port issue on my monitor - After roughly 45 seconds, the PC will power off. - All components except the case, IO, and motherboard are outdated parts from my previous PC. Solutions tried: - Swapped motherboard - Updated slots (memory installed) - Inspected key cables - Fully rebuilt my system
Erase the CMOS. Swap the cooler and put back thermal paste. Are you using just an HDD, is it the primary boot device?
Reset the motherboard's CMOS. Have you attempted to reinstall Windows?
The boot drive is the HDD. To confirm it's the correct one, verify the drive letter and ensure it appears in the system partition list. Make sure all SATA cables are properly connected.
You haven't used those tools yet. To reset the CMOS, you'll need to follow the specific steps for your device.
Disconnect all power connections and external devices. Either short the clear CMOS pins or remove the battery for 5-10 minutes. If possible, listen to it. Use a different SATA power and SATA data cable.
Disconnect the power supply to your PSU, then press the case power button a few times to remove any leftover energy. Remove the side panel of your case and locate the CMOS battery on your motherboard—it’s a small round silver cell, usually near your GPU or top PCIe slot (you may need to take out the GPU). Keep it out for 5–10 minutes, then reinsert it and restart your system. This will reset the BIOS settings while leaving Windows and other files untouched.
All components appear linked correctly. Two additional SATA cables are attached to the NZXT Fan controller. Experimented with various cables but none resolved the issue.
