This was my idea—if RAM is faulty or overclocked, it should perform extremely quickly (just a few seconds or minutes), though only under specific conditions. Even then, you might still face delays. So I’ll stop using it. That’s usually how troubleshooting works: replace components, test, and see if the problem resolves. The next step would be trying another type of RAM.
It probably isn't the RAM but rather the hard drive. I left it off for two days without any issues, then plugged it back in today and it crashed after about two hours. After unplugging again, it didn’t crash again. I’m not sure why, but the drive looks fine based on what I can see so far. Just hoping it doesn’t happen if I leave it unplugged.
I accidentally caused myself a problem, so I’m going to attempt a full reinstall of Windows. I’ll also check Windows 10 to determine if the issue is specific to that version.
