Hello, welcome! I'm here to help you troubleshoot your setup. Based on what you've shared, it sounds like your power supply might be the issue. The fact that your rig is shutting down more often after running programs and games suggests a potential power delivery problem. Your components—MSI Tripe fan 3060, i5 1100k, and 650W PSU—are in a reasonable range, but it's worth checking the PSU's capacity and health. Next steps could include testing the PSU with a different load, monitoring temperatures, and ensuring proper connections. Let me know how it goes!
Whenever I play video games, it tends to behave unpredictably. The screen goes black and the whole system restarts as if I had just rebooted. The case or RGB shuts down for a few seconds before coming back on. I haven’t seen this happen during light tasks or while browsing the web. After a restart, no error codes appear when it boots again. All temperatures look normal in MSI Afterburner. I’m puzzled about the frequent power cycling. I thought it might be related to the power supply since some recommend using more than 650 watts. Hope this helps.
Specs: Motherboard – Z490 Pro, CPU – 11th gen Intel i5 11600K, AIO – CoolMaster Hyper 212, GPU – MSI GeForce RTX 3060, RAM – 16 GB Corsair Vengeance. I’m certain the power supply is adequate; I don’t know the brand.
