The computer isn't restarting properly again...
Hi there, welcome! Before you ask more questions, please know I might have made a mistake or said something unclear. I'm from Indonesia and I'm new to English. My PC has these details:
- Motherboard: ASRock B550M Steel Legend
- CPU: Ryzen 5 3600X
- Graphics: MSi NVidia GeForce GTX 1650 Super Ventus XS OC
- Power Supply: Corsair CV450
- RAM: Kingston Hyper X Fury 3200Mhz (XMP enabled) 8GBx2
- SSD: Kingston A2000 NVME 500GB
- HDDs: Two random laptops – one 500GB Kingston, one 1TB Seagate
- Case: Cube Gaming AXEL (similar to Cooler Masters NR200P)
- No case fan and stock CPU cooler
- OS: Windows 11 Pro (Dev Channel)
I built this system in October 2020 for around 1000 USD or about 14 million IDR. It handled video editing, color grading, After Effects, music production, and gaming smoothly.
It worked well until October 2021 when water droplets appeared near the power supply port because of a leaky roof. Everything was fine then. In November 2021, it happened again while moving, and I couldn’t boot. They fixed it (replaced the board) but after a month it stopped working again. After a week without power, it started working again.
Recently, I changed the power supply to a new one, and it’s now working properly. But if I leave it unplugged for a day or two, it boots up normally. However, if I leave it plugged in for a week or more, it keeps failing to start. The CPU cooler spins slowly with RGB lights on, and the GPU fan doesn’t turn. Sometimes I try turning it on, but the CPU cooler jumps up and the screen goes blank. It’s hot inside now.
I’m really frustrated because I’ve invested so much money. Can you help me figure out what’s wrong?
Hello, your editing made it so you're repeatedly pressing Ctrl+Enter without reason.
Make sure to upload the file first. Once you start, you can retrieve the BIOS. Don't forget the extra step. After powering off and disconnecting the SATA and USB ports, take out the CMOS battery for a minimum of five minutes. This should allow the system to initialize. Then proceed with downloading the BIOS, inserting the USB, restarting, and flashing it. For detailed guidance on flashing BIOS, visit the support page at https://www.asrock.com/support/BIOSIG.asp?cat=BIOS11
You recently made changes to the topic, but the posting isn’t working. The suggestion was helpful. I’ll fix my BIOS once the first issue is fixed.
I've already attempted to re-attach it, but it continues acting as described. I'll try replacing it tomorrow.
