My computer has performed exceptionally well. The newest part I installed was my x52 kraken AIO, which was added in December. Everything was functioning normally. Then I decided to install MK1 because I've been eager to play it. It began producing an ear-piercing noise. I assumed it was coil whine, but everyone I consulted believed it was excessively loud and suggested it might be a failing hard drive. I removed the HDD and the AIO, but the sound persisted. They advised me to undervolt my GPU and enable "Acoustic Sound" in BIOS for the motherboard. I haven't tried either of those steps, yet I'm concerned it could be related to my GPU. It isn't coming from any of the case fans or GPU fans themselves. I turned them off and checked all connections. The noise would randomly activate even when the computer is idle. However, when I started up, I was able to run tasks for up to 8 hours without issues until I activated MK1. After shutting it down, the problem continued. It fluctuates between 2 seconds and up to 30 seconds at a time. The sound resembles a loud zipline. I own an Asus B550, Ryzen 7 5800x3D, EVGA 2080 ti, and an EVGA 850w Gold. I also have 16GB of DDR4 RAM at 3600MHz. By the way, my PC operates normally and maintains consistent temperatures during idle and while playing MK1.

Inside the PC there are few moving parts. The HDD and fans are among them. Additional sources of noise include vibration, airflow, coil whine, and rattling cables against the fan blades. None of these four produce high-pitched, loud sounds. I recommend you inspect your PC case and listen closely to identify the source of the screeching noise. At this stage, it seems the fan bearing, possibly including the AIO pump bearing, might be the issue.

I took out my AIO and the only fans left in the case are my GPU fans. The noise appears to come from the GPU itself. This morning I turned on my computer for work without loading anything except a show, and it makes an occasional screech at different pitches. After typing that sentence, it made another screech, and I noticed it seems like every time my second fan activates it produces that sound. I plan to do more testing after work to really determine if it's the fan issue.
