I was using Civ5 this time (believed it happens when I'm idle) with HWinfo active and had a log file, but I'm unsure how to interpret it. If someone can spot anything unusual, I'd appreciate the PC.CSV logs.

This occurs when the monitor switches to Stanby mode, which differs from a typical Windows black screen. There are no unusual audio cues, and the transition happens suddenly after turning off the PC.

This appears to be from a performance analysis or diagnostic tool. The initial high load suggests a stress condition, which in a game context might be normal behavior, but in a real test it indicates the GPU is under strain.
