Computer doesn't boot to bios I am building myself a computer for gaming. This happens when I try to start it: Loud click from the power supply, Cooler fan start rotating, another click from the power supply, everything turns off, except for the RGB display on the motherboard. I checked connections of the power cables and everything, maybe I made a dumb mistake, because this is my first PC build. Even the diagnosis LEDs on the motherboard are not lighting up. Specs: Motherboard: Rog Strix B-660 F Gaming Wifi CPU: Intel core i9 12700 K Graphics card: RTX 3070 ti MSI Ventus 3x Power supply: Phantek Revolt Pro 1000W DDR: 2 of 16gb Kingston fury Storage:Samsung M.2 980 1TB and 500MB Cooler: ID-cooling SE-226-XT Black Case: Fractal Design Meshify C

Remove the GPU, inspect the power cables, verify the M.2 placement, ensure RAM is installed in slots A2 and B2 fully seated. Use a cardboard box instead of styrofoam. If no response occurs, examine the CPU socket. Power on without the GPU to test booting. Edit: It’s possible you damaged the front panel. Attempt to detach all connections from the case to the board. Confirm the power button is securely connected.

Start by confirming the PSU rocker switch is set to the on position. Many people overlook this step and end up confused. As @DoctorNick mentioned, even after updating the BIOS, make sure the version you have is compatible with your processor. Also, double-check that the problem persists without the flash drive attached. Certain boards may not work well with specific flash drives for BIOS updates—this often happens with older systems. Sometimes manufacturers release BIOS updates that remove support for particular devices or CPUs. I’ve seen cases where an A320 couldn’t boot with a revision that didn’t support other components, and another instance where a BIOS update eliminated power-on capability entirely. If everything checks out, the issue might lie with the PSU, board, or CPU itself.

Your 8 pin EPS and 24 pin connectors aren't fully seated. On the 24 pin, insert the 4 pin connector first. Your 8 pin appears to have been placed incorrectly on the motherboard initially.

Good observation! It seems the 8-pin isn't fully present, missing half of the 4+4 section.

Reviewed all components yet the issue persists. Removed the power switch cable, same outcome using a screwdriver.

You’re asking about the meaning of “put your 4 pin first” and “wrong side of the motherboard.” It refers to the correct orientation when installing a component, ensuring it connects properly to the board.

It seems the motherboard stopped working completely, as both fans failed to start and there was no sound from the power source.

Looking back, it seems a problem occurred when you linked an incompatible device.
