I was checking the web on my gaming machine a while back, when my monitor began showing odd colored pixels, eventually making the screen go dark even though the computer stayed on. I’ve faced similar issues before with driver problems on my graphics card, but the fix I tried earlier doesn’t seem to help now. At first, I removed the GPU and used built-in graphics, then changed the BIOS settings to favor integrated graphics, turned off the PC, installed the GPU, and booted again. It worked well at that point, and after updating drivers, everything ran smoothly for about a year. This time, when I tried using integrated graphics, my PC wouldn’t display the NVIDIA control panel when I right-clicked the desktop, nor would it appear in the start menu. I also encountered difficulties with GeForce Experience, getting stuck in the driver settings. Updating drivers completed without issues, but I still had to install the newest version. System details: Windows 10 Home x64 MSI Z490-A pro Intel I5-10600K, 16GB DDR4 RAM, EVGA 1080 Founders Edition Corsair CX 650M. This situation is really confusing and I’m looking for guidance. Please let me know if you need more info. Thank you.

Consider resetting your BIOS settings—it resolved a comparable boot problem with both my dGPU and iGPU. If that doesn’t help, eliminate the GPU as the cause by testing it on another monitor or TV if possible. Should the issue continue, clean the GPU and inspect the PCIe connectors or display connectors for dust. Good luck!

I’ve attempted to reset the BIOS by swapping out and reinserting the CMOS battery, but that didn’t help. I also tried reseating the GPU, which didn’t resolve the issue. The VGA indicator lights up when the PC boots with the GPU connected. I managed to boot using HDMI to another monitor, though it caused unusual behavior as shown in the attached photos. Still, I’m unable to update the drivers.

Hey, have you considered reinstalling Windows? It might help to back up all your files beforehand. You could also completely remove your GeForce drivers and then install the newest version from NVIDIA (link provided). If that doesn’t work, check if your GPU is faulty—try placing it in a different slot or even on another computer if you can. Sadly, your GPU might be failing. As a final option, you could place it in the oven, but only if nothing else succeeds. I’ll keep an eye on your progress!

I tested a friend's graphics card in my system and it functioned properly, which suggests it might be failing. I'll look into possible solutions. Thanks!
