this machine was initially built for my grandfather and performed reliably for many years. later, when my uncle purchased a new monitor, the computer failed to start. he avoided fixing it himself, so he returned it to me. after six months, I decided to give it a new life for a friend. during refurbishment, I replaced the RAM, power supply, SSD, and installed a functional CPU. still, the same problems persist. occasionally it powers on with fans spinning, lights illuminating, and the DVD drive rotating, but no video appears and USB ports remain inactive—this occurs with both the GPU and the display. other times it simply doesn’t turn on at all. once, pressing the power button on the PSU’s back caused the keyboard LEDs to flash, though it still wouldn’t activate. several troubleshooting steps have been attempted: swapping the CPU, RAM, PSU, GPU; clearing CMOS, replacing the CMOS battery, unplugging USB devices, disabling audio, Wi-Fi, and SATA connections. the only remaining possibilities are a dead motherboard or an overcurrent protection issue. if you have any other ideas or tests in mind, please let me know. The original motherboard model is an ASRock Z87e (it might have been labeled as G3258), equipped with 8GB DDR3 RAM, a 480GB ADATA SSD, and a Corsair CX430 GTX 750 Ti. I’m considering upgrading to a RTX 3060 later.
