When I attempted to boot my computer today, no image appeared from the monitor and the mouse and keyboard stopped functioning. All other components seemed operational (the fans were running, the GPU light was on, etc.). After clearing the CMOS without success, I reinserted the RAM, which allowed the computer to start but caused the same issue—reinserting the RAM again was necessary to boot. A strange occurrence also happened: when the computer started, the top fan would briefly activate, then shut off and restart itself (only after reseating the RAM, it stopped turning back on if the computer failed to start). My memory was set to the xmp profile 1. I ran memtest for 8 hours without encountering any errors. Anyone have any insight into this problem?

Does using all slots with a single RAM stick affect performance? Is your setup more reliable with just one main processor? Could you test with a different power supply?
