I've been using my PC for roughly five months now. It's been acting up lately, stopping suddenly without any clear cause. Sometimes it works fine for just 20 minutes or a couple of hours, but then it crashes completely. I've checked many things, but nothing seems to trigger the issue. It happens whether the system is under light or heavy use. My setup includes an AMD Ryzen 5 7600X with several high-end components, a Corsair Vengeance Radeon RX 7600XT, and multiple case fans. The power consumption is around 461W. When it crashes, an app freezes and then the screen goes black after a short delay, followed by shutdown. I've tried a full factory reset and reinstalled Windows, using the sfc/scannow tool through the command prompt, but no errors were found. I'm really unsure what to do next and need help.

Do you have any extra components available for checking? Maybe you could ask a friend to lend their PC so you can compare parts. Begin with that Corsair power supply, try it on another machine. Then test a different compatible power supply in your own PC. If that eliminated the issue, keep going and swap out other components one by one.

I don’t have much else, just an old computer I’d mainly use to check the power supply.

Open Event Viewer to review logs. Look for details in the critical/errors section for insights.

CPU performance under stress is around 55°C, GPU reaches ~60°C. I’m unsure about the latest BIOS version or chipset drivers. Disk health appears stable. Firmware info is unclear—I suspect the friend shared GPU drivers but didn’t confirm VBIOS details. RAM tests with OCbase showed normal results; Unigine Heaven benchmark completed without issues. Stress tests from OCbase passed, though the CPU briefly hit 93°C during one run (possibly test-related). Multiplane Overlay MPO is a term I’m not familiar with. Windows Reliability Monitor logged crashes multiple times yesterday. No major changes made—PC factory reset, drives wiped, Windows reinstalled. Despite these steps, the issue persisted. I attempted sfc /scannow and opened the CBS file, mainly searching for an SR tag. I ran mdsched.exe via Windows Run dialog. It seems crashes only occur when a game is active, regardless of the title, and other activities didn’t trigger failures. The CPU stayed hot for a few seconds during testing. I’m at a loss and apologize for not being able to assist further.

I've seen several entries in the event viewer and reliability monitor referencing Event ID 41.

In my post you are referring to, there's a section with all the tools you can find the info with and answer all those "I don't know" and "I think" statements.
