Hello everyone, I'm trying to figure out a tricky issue with my setup. I play Apex Legends on both Apex Legends and wz 2.0. My hardware includes an Asus Tuf B450 M Plus, a gaming Ryzen 7 2700, a Zotac RTX 2080, two 8GB DDR4 3200 Corsair Vengeance SSDs (firmware updated), a 650W Sesonic Gold PSU, and a Benq XPLANE 1080p monitor. The system runs Windows 11, and I've checked drivers, BIOS, and connections. Despite everything being at the lowest settings, I still experience stuttering—sometimes for half a second—and frame drops to around 80 FPS. Even with DDU unistaller and reinstalled drivers, the problem persists. I've also tried turning off DOCP, but it doesn't help. I'm confident my hardware and settings are correct, so I'm looking for other solutions. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot, everyone!

Your device hardware appears normal, but background software might interfere with gaming performance. Have you reviewed the startup items to identify which applications launch automatically at boot? Are you using any free antivirus software, which is often unreliable? Also, did the problem start after an update? Do you have a previous restore point where games worked without issues?

No software is running in the background. There’s no realistic chance of viruses being present.

RTX 2080 aims for 83°C, then reduces GPU speed. If it stays near that temperature constantly, your PC might be overheating or the GPU could throttle, leading to lag or stutters. If you play games while the sidepanel is off, what effect does that have?

Try removing the side panels and front panel, then set the fans to their highest speeds. Check if this helps improve performance. That setting usually matches the maximum temperature limits for GPUs and CPUs, which is why the system stays stable.

The main problem here is a clear CPU limitation. The 2700 struggles to handle the 2080 at 1080p and likely shuts down under load. Frequent power adjustments lead to performance drops. To fix this, you can boost settings to their highest level (which slightly reduces the bottleneck), upgrade the CPU, or switch to a 1440p/4K display. The second concern involves XMP 3200 on Zen+—it's nearly unachievable unless the RAM is Hynx CJR or Samsung B-die and the CPU meets certain specs. Try the second XMP profile (2933). Check if your board runs the latest BIOS, install the latest chipset drivers from AMD or Asus.
