Hey everyone! In short, I was moving an old laptop to a newer one and tried using a third-party imaging tool to do it. Mostly everything went smoothly, but earlier steps caused issues. My old 512GB HDD was resized to a 128GB partition, and I thought I could expand it again on the new machine with a 256GB SSD. Surprisingly, the disk manager thought there was more than 300GB free, even though the drive only had 256GB. I’m looking for advice since I don’t want to risk data loss by expanding incorrectly. Usually I avoid cloning tools, but my grandparents were worried about moving everything. It felt like the easiest option at the time.
