The clock watchdog is showing a blue screen during gameplay. Is your CPU adequately cooled?
Hello, after playing CS2 for around 10 minutes, I encounter a blue screen with the specified error message. I need to wait before restarting, or it will keep rebooting with the same issue. I suspect my CPU isn’t getting enough cooling. I have a Corsair H80i with one fan behind it and two fans in front of the case. I’ve attached a picture. What do you think is the problem? Should I get an extra fan for the H80i?
What processor is this? It doesn’t typically show a heat warning. Adding another fan probably won’t help much. Did you assemble the system yourself? Is it a ready-made unit? Are all the necessary drivers set up? Check the BIOS, chipset, and other components.
Intel 4790k is a custom build from ten years ago. I recently added an Intel 1050Ti, but the bootloader kept showing errors when launching games. After a fresh install of GPU drivers, the issue persisted. The system reported no available drivers or updates despite a recent clean install. No motherboard drivers have been added yet.
intel 4790k paired with rtx 3050 and 16gb ram, running at 1600mhz. Corsair HX750 and H80i are installed, along with a 1tb samsung ssd. The setup uses ASUS Maximum Vii formula one fan, with exhaust fans on the front of the chassis. Initially set to auto, I switched it to XMP last night after reading a guide suggesting it would resolve an issue.
It might be particularly noticeable that the earlier voltage appears very high...
DDR3 performance isn't unusual. Are any adjustments made to the BIOS? Could aging affect it? More power might be required to keep things stable at the same speeds.
You haven’t pushed the CPU beyond its rated limits. Keep it at around 4 GHz with stable power delivery. The RAM speed of 16 MHz seems fine for your setup. Since you adjusted the Vcore and it didn’t respond, stick with the current setting unless you notice any instability.
