I purchased an LSI 6Gbps SAS HBA 9200-81 IT Mode ZFS FreeNAS unit along with 2*SFF-8087 SATA drives. I thought it would function like a GPU, so I connected it directly and expected it to work. Instead, it emits several beeps, the green LED lights up, but then it fails to boot. I don’t know why this happens.

What kind of motherboard are you using? Are there any connected storage devices? It seems like you're asking about the chipset or whether the card is sounding an alarm. Most likely, it's the motherboard itself rather than a beeper on the card.

I'm connected with this drive and using an HP 82F2 board. It's showing a beep from the motherboard, and I turned off Secure Boot but enabled CSM, yet the issue persists.

It's likely due to the BIOS being tailored for GPUs only, especially since the HBA functions correctly. The exact problem remains unclear without further details.

You can opt for a significantly lower-priced motherboard.
