I recently purchased an HP PhotoSmart 315 camera and it behaves in ways I've never observed before. It functions perfectly at home, in my car, and even in the shower, but it fails to power on when I'm at work. There seems to be some kind of barrier stopping it from starting. It begins to initialize, yet before reading the memory card it displays an error "ERR 204," which isn't explained in the manual. This has piqued my interest since this has never happened before. My initial thought is that environmental factors like humidity and heat might be involved, though I doubt the camera has direct sensors for these conditions. Anyone have any insights on what could be causing this issue?

Strange... Has it been damaged by the water or smth? By any chance does your work have high any EMI interferences? Its a pretty old camera so idk if that can be the problem...

You're not in a government facility or a former one? Probably a GPS signal issue. Alternatively, a corrupted file in the camera's BIOS or memory card could be the cause.

That sounds intriguing. I’m located in a remote area, so maybe a 5G blocking sticker would help. The camera works perfectly elsewhere—it only has this issue at work. I checked it, no water damage or battery issues. Probably not EMI or radiation; very unlikely.

This might seem silly, but you could cover everything with aluminum foil if you needed to protect it at work.

It’s probably due to an external influence or a disturbance affecting the memory reader.

I operate in a venue complex with multiple spaces—church, theatre, conference rooms, etc.—all in historic structures. The lack of air conditioning means the environment stays very humid and warm. This is the basis of my humidity theory.
