They likely turned off the Aux port on those APs at the present hostel.

It seems the system displays a 1Gbps connection even though it wasn't active, which shouldn't happen if the setting was turned off.

By disabling I should have been more explicit about their placement—either they were placed in a VLAN without internet access by design, or they weren’t set up correctly and defaulted to a non-internet VLAN. Essentially, the previous hostel likely configured them, while this one hasn’t, leaving them essentially offline.

You can adjust the AP settings so the AUX port gains internet access while keeping the rest of the setup unchanged. Since you’re near your room, you can manually control the AP as needed.

I noticed another detail I missed earlier. When you take the AP off the LAN box and then reconnect it, the LED lights up briefly in white for a short time—possibly during setup or an unknown process. During those first moments, you can reach the internet through your PC via LAN, but once the AP lights change to green and then blue when someone connects, the connection drops and you lose internet access.

They must initiate the process from the controller, meaning you should request it or look for another solution. The API retrieves its settings from the controller at that stage, and after full setup it’s likely moved to a VLAN without internet access on that port.
