Hi everyone,
Today I was getting ready for a trip and chose to shut down the PSU of my PC (BitFenix 850w plus gold). By mistake, I turned it off gradually instead of quickly, and I heard a buzzing noise. Feeling worried, I turned it back on and everything functioned properly.
I noticed I could recreate the same problem by turning it off slowly. Is this sound typical? Might it harm my PC?
Have a great day!

It's okay...just make sure to firmly set the rocker switch to the off position next time.

Switches need to operate swiftly. A "slow switch" can lead to arcing accompanied by noise and sparks. Electrons moving through air between contacts resemble lightning, producing a faint thunder-like buzz. Over time, this arcing wears down the metals. The goal is to achieve rapid metal-to-metal connections or disconnections to minimize arcing. Please be careful to ensure a smooth operation.

Then, there's nothing to worry about and it's common to all psu?
As said, everything was working fine after that. I'm a bit worried about the other components.

There's no reason to spend time worrying about it. If something happened, it's already happened, and there would be nothing you could do about it at this point. If nothing happened, then nothing happened, and you can just avoid doing this again.
