The BSOD resulted from Easy Anti-Cheat.
I acquired a new computer and hadn't played Elden Ring until today. My previous PC never faced this problem. However, whenever I attempt to open Elden Ring, it also displays the EAC, and when the progress reaches 100%, it triggers a BSOD. I tried reinstalling the game, but it reported a "disk write error" at the end of the setup. Yet, during the initial installation, it didn't show any errors but still caused the BSOD.
I looked for possible solutions, like reinstalling EAC, but it only opens briefly before closing instantly. Help needed!
Hey there,
Is it just this one game that behaves that way?
Assuming system drivers and BIOS are up to date?
Try your memory with memtest86+ and ensure it passes without errors (four passes is ideal, but two suffice for quick checks). This might take some time, so consider running it overnight.
Edit: My personal experience with EA Anti Cheat/Easy AntiCHeat has been terrible. It creates numerous problems, especially with BF2042.
It was the sole application, yet I discovered the issue. I looked it up online and saw a Reddit thread suggesting the Aura Antivirus was the culprit. Removing Aura resolved the problem.
