For a really long time, almost a year at least, every single time i open or refresh narescue.com, something automatic pops up to type "gloves" into the search bar on that website. It's super annoying because this happens every time i reload a page or start a new one, no matter what i do. Even when i am logged in to my account, it still types "gloves." I have already cleared cookies and all my browsing data, but nothing changed. This doesn't happen when i go on the same site from my phone, nor does it work with firefox; it only happens if i use chrome. I've checked all the settings and tried changing a lot of things, but i still can't figure out why "gloves" keeps getting auto-filled. Any ideas what could be causing this would be really helpful.
turn off all extensions and see if the problem goes away. If it doesn't, take out the Chrome app completely and put back in. Then click "Set to default" in the settings. If removing the extension fixes things, that's what caused the issue. It's time for a clean-up. Also run a full virus scan or malware check using the free version of Malwarebytes if you don't have the paid plan yet.
Delete or turn off all those extra things that come with your browser. Check again to see if the problem goes away. If it still happens, take Chrome out of your computer and put back a new copy. Make sure settings are set right when you do this. If turning off extensions fixes the issue, then it's one of those little add-ons causing trouble. It takes time to get things clean up. Also check for viruses or bad software with the free version of Malwarebytes if you don't have the paid version yet.
