You're considering a 15-meter Cat6 Ethernet cable for your setup. I checked Amazon and found three options that might suit you. One option offers Cat6 compatibility at a lower price, while another is Amazon's fulfillment and slightly discounted. The third is a corrosion-resistant connector with a higher cost. Let me know if you'd like more details on any of these.

15 meters isn't considered a long Ethernet connection. You can easily reach 100 meters (and beyond, though that's outside the standard range). Based on my experience, all three options work well. I recently purchased several of these cables from KabelDirekt for a project tomorrow, and I've used CSL cables before—they're reliable. AmazonBasics also performs consistently.

It depends on what you're comparing, but KabelDirekt is often highlighted for its affordability among similar options.

Absolutely, everything looks great. The most affordable option really fits the bill. They’re not only high quality but also visually appealing.

Sure! For securing the door while keeping Ethernet active, place the cable in the small gap between screws for better stability. Alternatively, run it along the open side for easier access. This keeps your setup safe and functional.

It really depends on the door. Best to avoid placing it on the floor since it could be a tripping risk. You should aim for the spot where the cable is least likely to get pinched.

I used an inexpensive flat cable for a friend and passed it through the space where the door swings, since it wasn't very secure. For better stability, you should drill a hole in the wall and install it correctly.

In my thoughts, there are three main aspects when purchasing Ethernet cables. Length options include Cat 5, 6, and 7—skip Cat 5 since it’s outdated. Look for special features such as flat designs. Handle Ethernet cables carefully; they can be damaged easily, especially when crushed or bent sharply at angles. Avoid bending them more than 90 degrees unless necessary, as this can cause breakage, particularly with low-quality cables.

The top recommendation is to avoid copper-clad aluminum. If the material consists solely of full copper wires, it’s perfectly fine.

The drawbacks of flat cables include limited flexibility and potential signal degradation over long distances. For a 15M cable in your home, these issues might affect performance but are generally manageable with proper installation.
