Hi, I received a B550 Gaming Gen 3 from MSI on Amazon Warehouse. The CPU isn’t working on this motherboard, but it functions in my personal PC. The latch makes an unusual sound when closing and feels unusually stiff. I’m curious if there’s a way to resolve this issue. Motherboard model: B550 Gaming Gen 3 CPU: Ryzen 5600X (tested working) RAM: Trident Z Royal RGB problem: latch makes strange noises on AM4 motherboard and CPU error lights appear on the motherboard.

I checked the socket while the latch was closed to look for any issues. You mentioned it came with an aftermarket CPU cooler bracket—did you notice anything unusual about that part?

It seems the processor is probably dead, but I managed to get it running with another unit.
