Hey there! I put together a new PC setup and it didn’t go exactly as planned. The original thread got a bit mixed up, so here I’m starting over—thanks for the guidance from @CommanderAlex. My current specs are: motherboard B550 Aorus Pro rev.1.0 (BIOS F4), AMD Ryzen 5 3600, cooler Scythe Fuma 2, thermal paste Arctic MX-4, RAM Crucial Ballistix 3600MHz CL16, 16GB, GPU RX460 (instead of the planned nVidia 3000 or AMD 6000), PSU Seasonic Focus GX-750, and storage Samsung 970 EVO NVMe 500GB. I’m using a 2667MHz RAM, which is below the desired 3600MHz CL16 speed. The boot fails when trying to enable XMP profile 1, and the DEBUG LEDs show DRAM activity but no progress. I’ve used EasyTune (Giagbyte) to try boosting it to 3200MHz, but it stalls again. I attempted manual overclocking with DRAM CALCULATOR, but it didn’t help. My MOBO CMOS pins aren’t working either—I have to swap the battery each time and still can’t get a boot. Could anyone share tips on BIOS settings for RAM speed and booting? Thanks!

I haven't updated the chipset driver or BIOS myself. I can't perform hardware modifications. Let me know if you need guidance on the process.

Shut down the PC and power off the PSU. Removed the case and pressed two pins together with a screwdriver for roughly half a minute. The BIOS version is set to "F4." If you don't have an AMD 5000 series CPU, should I increase it? Yes, the chipset has been updated.

It's uncertain, but BIOS updates aren't only for adding features—they also include bug fixes and improvements.

Thank you for the update. I just changed my BIOS to F10, entered it, and enabled XMP Profile. Clicked F10 (save & exit) and the system restarted successfully, showing 3600MHz. The issue now is that Windows keeps displaying a system signal every 30 seconds or so. It also plays the Windows 10 sound when a new device connects via USB, etc. I tried setting XMP High frequency support to Level 3 but the crash continues. I increased the DRAM voltage to 1.4V without any improvement. I undid all changes and it’s still running at 2667MHz.

What is your SOC voltage when XMP is active? Adjust it to 1.10V or 1.12V. Also, give it a try if you haven't: turn on XMP Profile 1 (it auto-sets timings and DRAM voltage). Pick the DRAM frequency for DDR4-3400 or DDR4-3200 (XMP handles timing but reduces frequency by 1 or 2 ratios). Save and close.
