I put AVG on my new laptop and the load time jumped from around 8 seconds to about 12. After uninstalling it, everything ran smoothly again. I’m curious why this change affected SSD load times so much—does it have a big impact because of its size? :L Also, I’m using an 840 EVo with a 4710MQ.

AVG may have introduced certain malware or unwanted software during installation. This could have contributed to the issue.

The same issue occurred with me too; I removed it and everything is functioning normally again.

I'm going to tackle this on my gaming PC too. I spotted the issue on my new laptop and figured out what to fix.

Consider trying Avast Free Antivirus. Let me know if you notice any variations. Thanks.

It’s best to skip antivirus software since so many new cyber threats emerge every day.

The average boost in boot time happens because it fetches a lot more data at once. Is a 4-second delay really that important?

Malwarebytes is used for that purpose. Besides, an antivirus shields you against recognized malware.
