The Asus Z490 fails to power on unexpectedly.
Hello, I set up my new Asus z490 Tuf Gaming with an i7 10700kf and Hypercool 212 cooler. I also installed a Samsung Evo M.2 and Corsair LPX 3200 RAM with 32gb. For now, I’m using a Thermaltake ToughPowr 750 PSU and my old Radeon HD6750. Everything ran smoothly throughout the day and evening. I’ve spent time installing W10 and Linux Mint, and I’ve had to reinstall W10 several times. During one reboot, it stopped rebooting suddenly. The Q-Leds flash red and amber (alternating), which usually indicates CPU and RAM issues. My ASUS says these lights come on and stay on, while mine flash slowly. I’m confused because the problem seems related to secure boot, but there’s no BIOS beep. The board header pins look different from my case speaker connectors—should I try an adapter? (The header has L-R +5v, GND, GND, SPKR, but the speaker only has two wires: positive and negative.) Any thoughts on what the flashing lights mean and what to do next?
