I checked if anyone has faced similar problems and could offer guidance. My setup includes an ASUS B450m TUF Gaming Plus board, a Ryzen 3600 processor, and four 8GB RAM sticks capped at 3200MHz. The memory comes from two identical Corsair Vengeance kits with matching serial numbers and previously worked well together. I also own a Pulse Sapphire 5600XT and an 850W Corsair power supply. Recently, I replaced my SSD with a new upgrade and reinstalled Windows. I updated the BIOS to its latest version, adjusted fan curves slightly, disabled AURA RGB, and enabled resizable BAR.
I encountered an issue where restarting caused the screen to go black, the RGB turned off on the keyboard, and the system wouldn’t reboot. Pressing the restart button in my case would refresh everything without problems. I tried reverting the BIOS to an older version, which resolved the hang, but not when I changed all settings back—especially after disabling the resizeable BAR (a feature absent in my previous BIOS). After clearing CMOS, everything functioned normally.
I also attempted to restore fan curve settings, but the problem reappeared. I’ve tried turning off AURA and DOCP, but the click sound during restart remains a concern. I haven’t yet reinstated the fan curve changes, though I suspect they might trigger the issue again.
Someone else mentioned a similar experience on Reddit with a different ASUS B450 board. Possible causes for me include: 1) BIOS update, 2) upgrading from a 1TB WD Blue SSD to a 2TB Crucial P3 Plus PCIe Gen 4 NVMe drive, or 3) rearranging the RAM sticks. I’m certain the RAM order wasn’t the problem since I’ve swapped them before.
I’m open to suggestions and would appreciate any insights from others who’ve dealt with this situation.
