The Asrock Z490 Taichi IO shield's LED is already faulty.
Started the day noticing all the LEDs on the IO shield malfunctioning. Owned this MOBO since July 25th, and while LEDs don’t last forever, this brief outage is quite surprising. The issue isn’t limited to just a few LEDs failing here and there—it’s a widespread problem. Someone mentioned on forums that Asrock might be placing LEDs too close to heat sources, which would be a major oversight. It’s frustrating because it feels like a simple fix but still bothersome. I keep checking the display out of habit.
I opened up today and they seemed to fix themselves instantly. Before sharing my thoughts, I had completely restarted the device—powered it off and back on. I also tried switching color settings, just for fun. Maybe the old TV remote worked by adjusting the input. Nothing I did seemed to help them light up. Who knows how MOBO LEDs are typically connected? It could be a loose wire or a short circuit.
