Hi!!
I've been experiencing this problem for several months now... sometimes all my apps stop working with sound (Mozilla, VLC, games, discord, etc.) while Windows still functions. It seems to fix itself just by ending the user session and restarting again. I've reinstalled Windows, changed the motherboard and CPU for various reasons, and even ran command lines to repair Windows, but it keeps happening... occasionally; not every day.

It doesn't seem related to my default audio devices—except headphones and speakers, which I've disabled. I'm a bit confused because it wasn't resolved during a clean Windows reinstall from scratch.

My system is running Windows 11 PRO, version 10.0.26.100.
(Not specifying motherboard/CPU since it occurred with two different setups. I also had the Logitech G hub software for my headphones before the reinstall, but I don't have it anymore, so it's unlikely to be the cause.)

Any help would be appreciated Smile

Update your post with detailed hardware specifications and operating system details for both the motherboards and CPUs. Provide PSU information including make, model, wattage, age, and condition (original, build, refurbished, used). List all connected peripherals. Clarify whether the system runs on a wired or wireless network. Confirm whether the issue persists in Safe Mode. Check Reliability History/Monitor and Event Viewer for error codes, warnings, or logs near the times apps stop playing sound. Note any additional applications, utilities, or drivers installed. Mention if a third-party app, utility, or driver is launched at startup or via Task Scheduler, possibly shared between systems.
