Your AP keeps restarting the Wi-Fi adapter each time you connect, while the main router has similar problems but none are as frequent.

I understand you're asking about what "reset" means in this context. Could you clarify whether you're referring to a device connection, an adapter, or router settings? Also, please share your specific adapter or router model so I can assist accurately.

The adapter shuts down automatically before activating the Netgear N300 Router with the Adapter AC Intel Dual-band Wireless 1365 AP, which is also the Archer D7 AC1750.

Check the adapter settings under device management. In the Power Management section, remove the option "allow computer to turn off device to save power." Verify you haven’t pressed any unintended switch for Wi-Fi shutdown. Let us know if this resolves the issue.

It doesn't function properly, and your hands move away from the keyboard during connection.

Have you checked if updating the Wi-Fi drivers helped? If yes, connect only to the 2.4 band and turn off the 5.0 band temporarily—adjust settings on the adapter if needed. Are other devices on your network experiencing problems? Consider updating the router firmware. After that, examine your Wi-Fi channels and test connectivity from a local machine (including the AP and router). I prefer confirming it’s not a device issue before proceeding. Keeping a USB Wi-Fi adapter nearby is handy for quick troubleshooting.

WiFi drivers updated, machine restarted twice exclusively on the 2.4GHz frequency. No other devices are experiencing problems.

I’d likely focus on the Wi-Fi adapter since that’s the most probable source of the problem. You might try using a budget USB adapter briefly, and consider replacing the internal one later if permitted by your laptop model.
